MAYO's Foundational Principles

MAYO FOUNDATIONAL PRINCIPLES 
1) MAYO is a charism within the Oblate family inspired by St. Eugene De Mazenod 
2) Fr. Juan Antonio Perez Mayo OMI is the patron of MAYO which is inspired by him and the other 21 Oblate martyrs. 
3) MAYO follows cultivation spirituality 
4) Ideally MAYO executive members take the oath of fidelity to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church upon acceptance of that role. 
5) MAYO promotes Charismatic spirituality and worship but MAYO members do not have to be Charismatic (LG 4). 
6) MAYO follows the Communio school of theology (http://www.communio-icr.com/) which promotes the Theology of the Body. 
7) MAYO lives out Catholic Social Teaching as expressed in The Compendium of the Social Doctrine of the Catholic Church.
8) MAYO believes all that is contained in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. 
9) All MAYO members are encouraged to join political parties to live out Catholic Social Teaching. 
10) MAYO is consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. 
11) MAYO seeks to establish an authentic Catholic Youth Culture including a prolife sustainable lifestyle. 
12) The National Oblate Youth Director has ecclesial guidance of MAYO. 
13) MAYO aims to license all resources as copy-left (CC BY and LGPL) and have a preferential option for using copy left resources.
